Politics & The Youths

THE TECTONIC SHIFT FOR A NEW DAWN
There are critical challenges that will stretch the limit of the human race. They can make or mar our generation if treated with levity. They are: Climate change, energy crises and overwhelming growing poverty gap in the midst of great wealth.

For the Nigerian youth, the challenge is we. Why did I conclude it is all about us? No generation like ours has the enormous resources to change our politics but we have been caught in the web of myopia, emotionalism, blame-game, aloofness and a survival tactics that only entrench a rotten status quo.

While our government has only paid lip service to youth development, we have failed to mobiles our energies to bring about politics’ of transformation and prosperity for all. We seem condemned to the politics of chop now forget tomorrow or one of ‘grab as much from them (politician) for ourselves and cronies.

It’s a pity we don’t see the poverty wiping out our communities because of our desperate moves to separate it or aloofness as a result of the wealth we where burn into. Where we have overcome poverty, we build fences of all kind in the midst of poverty-wrenched neighbors. What a dangerous way to live!
As youths, we must begin to disdain the blame-game and take full responsibility for a great Nigeria. We should begin to create the future we desire. And stop being consumers of technology along but producers. We must begin to mobilize resources to change the circumstances and leadership that ruins our collective destinies.

Nation building is our responsibility. It behooves us to hold the government by the balls in order to compel them not only to eulogies loft politics but to implement them to the latter. Benefiting from corruption of any kind is deciding our mortal destruction someday.

More so, we should begin to mushroom structures that ensure and promote prosperity of millions rather than the destructive enrichment of the few and the frivolities it emblems.

We can begin to promote an issue-based politics. Issues that promote the wellbeing of the many through thinking in collective destinies and not just one bore of self-love alone

In all, we can build a great Nigeria from now. Just by king our biases and see nation building as our sole responsibility and promoting the chief good of all also. That is the tectonics shift we need
